  1. Before PT, I had trouble walking more than a short distance, pulling my foot back to take off my shoe, and also some difficulty with balance. Now I have only slight trouble on my two-mile walks and no difficulty on the short ones! I don’t have any problem taking off my shoe, and my balance is much better. I have no difficulty at all with normal activities. The strengthening exercises Mike designed for me have helped and I will keep doing them. Mike and Rachele have been terrific! Very helpful at getting me stronger. And the staff is very friendly. J Helen T. September 19, 2018
  2. I have been a walker for years and began experiencing pain in my back and hip. I had x-rays, MRIs, PT and cortisone and was still in pain. My granddaughter told me about Peak Performance. She had ACL surgery and went there for rehab. I saw how quickly she healed and how much she praised Peak Performance. So I decided to give PT another try. When I met Andrew, he explained his plans for me and I knew I was in the right place. In less than two weeks, my back pain was gone and my hip was getting better. Graduation was both happy and sad for me. Happy because now I am pain free for the first time in 3 years! Sad because I will miss Andrew. I always learned something from him to make my body feel better and stronger. He was kind, caring and understanding. He always had a plan for me. My time was not wasted with icing, heating or handouts with pictures of exercises; everything was hands on and personalized. Today I feel better and fitter than ever. Andrew taught me exercises that I will use all my life, and I look forward to living as long as possible since Andrew and Peak Performance! Judy Y. March 5, 2018
  3. I’m very glad to have chosen Peak Performance for my hip replacement therapy. I have been elsewhere for therapy and here I received in-depth training on the exercises. It helped me in doing the exercises correctly and getting the most benefit from them. I can easily pick up small items that fall on the floor. My increased strength allows me to stand up quickly. My walking stride is much stronger even on uneven ground. Before PT here, my legs would get tired and now I walk with more power and climb moderate slopes with little difficulty. When I play tennis I can run down a short-placed tennis ball. Doing housework is easy (it was tiring before PT) and I used to have to lie down often. I’m very pleased with the skill and presentation of the therapy. Judith W. December 14, 2017
  4. I have made huge improvements at Peak Performance. Walking without crutches—No crutches or can to aid walking Getting in and out of bed—Not a problem now Stairs without a crutch—One step at a time, but no crutch needed Driving—Now not a problem getting in and out of the car or moving my foot from the accelerator to the brake Weight on right leg—Now 100% load Edwin J.
  5. I was referred by a friend after telling her about my back pain, which had been constant for three weeks. I was evaluated and we found that my body had been compensating for a severe ankle injury I sustained this past summer. After 1.5 weeks of therapy, my back pain disappeared and I feel strong. I’m able to live my life as I had been, which included lots of exercising, cycling, walking and hiking. My ankle movement is much improved and I feel great. Thank you, Andrew! Flora F. 6. After having my second hip replaced, I had the misfortune of dislocating it 5 weeks later. When I started my rehab PT with Mike, I was very weak and under strict limitations of what I could do, having to use a crutch to get around plus a walker at home. I could not bend over to put on socks/shoes or tie shoelaces. Nor could I go up/down stairs carrying more than 5 lbs., or walk without limping. Starting with PT twice a week, I rapidly gained strength to the point that, at graduation, I am regularly walking 3 miles on the treadmill at my gym, putting on my socks/shoes without help, doing yard work several days a week, and interspersing that with working out at the gym. When I started, I was doing 4” step downs with no weights; now I can do 6” with 15 lb. weights! While my new hip is still the weaker of the two, I am almost back to normal in my daily life. Thanks to Mike, I know I’ll be back to normal in my active life (horseback riding and hiking) real soon now! Emil G. November 15, 2016
  7. Before PT I couldn’t point my toes, run or jump. I wasn’t able to do most of the things I love to do like play soccer, lacrosse, or basketball. And I couldn’t take my dog for walks without pain. I also had to walk down the stairs which took forever. Now I am able to go faster down the stairs, run, jump, and play sports. I feel like now I am stronger than before I hurt my ankle. Yay! Ellie M. 8. My ability to walk my dog for periods of time more than 20 minutes became quite difficult. I felt as though my body (in general) and especially my legs were dragging. I became very aware of also becoming quite stooped, which was distressing because I am normally a very active woman for my age. I am realizing real improvement since beginning with Karen. She is so patient, easy to talk to and a pleasure to work with. Thank you, Karen! Barbara R. October 20, 2016
  9. Peak Performance has given me back my confidence towards being physically fit and capable to achieve what I set out to do. I struggled with walking on the Canal for an extended period of time. Even the smallest incline was painful on my hip. Now it’s a breeze to walk a steep incline. As a woman, I can wear heels with comfort when it’s necessary! I am back and ready to push myself to be healthier and fitter than before my surgery. Kathy W. October 3, 2016
  10. I had trouble with walking, stairs, and sitting. I am now pain free with walking, stairs, lawn work, and carrying light packages up stairs. Barry S. September 15, 2016
  11. "I had problems sleeping, standing, kneeling in church, walking more than 50 yards, golfing, and playing volleyball (had to stop eventually). Two weeks after resurfacing surgery, I was walking unassisted, but with very limited flexibility. At that point, I started with Peak PT. By 6 weeks, I was golfing again, and WALKING the full 18 holes! If not for a cautious (but excellent!) surgeon, I have no doubt Peak would have had me playing volleyball again by 16 weeks, but we took our time. Now, I feel I can play anything, do anything, better than I have in years!" Kevin M. August 11, 2016
  12. Before coming to PT, I had trouble walking because it caused so much pain. Now I can walk as much as I want, bike and run a little. I am doing a lot better. Julia N. August 25, 2016
